Your budget might not be able to churn out an oasis, but you can fix the place up and just make it a relaxing room to be in – and you don’t need a million bucks to do it! The absolute must in this room is a warm, cozy bed with fresh sheets and pillow cases of course! It is not advisable to give your guest the most saggy mattress you have. If your budget does not allow a new or good second hand bed, an option is a good quality air mattress which can be put on the floor. Getting new beddings with attractive designs can do wonders for your guest room. It is wise to always have an extra set of bed and bath linens available for your guests. In some cases, there are guests who insist on changing the sheets when they leave, let them and thank them graciously for doing it. Provide your guest a space or luggage rack or a bench, to put down a suitcase or overnight bag.The idea is to provide your guest with as much space as you can. Remove anything un useful in that room. Leave only the wall or bedside clock and a calendar. Provide ample lighting in your guest room. Dim lighting could render a room drab or unappealing. There should also be a night lamp by the bed so that your guests wouldn’t be fumbling or stumbling in the dark at night. It would also be great if you can provide a small writing table and a lamp with it, should your guest need it. A place to hang your guest’s clothes and drawer space wouldn’t go amiss. Make sure your guest has privacy. A curtain or blinds to cover the window can be used.
